Wdiff started as a utility to compare directory structures. As time passed, it evolved into a bigger program, able to do more. It's main use is to compare directory structures and individual files.
There are two editions of this program, the light one, which is also free for public use and the standard one (the registered copy), which has more features.

Wdiff is not a program for tracing differences between files. It only reports file differences. If someone wants to track changes between files, there are many (free and commercial) products to do this.

Wdiff Light has the abilty to compare directory structures, giving the results in a structured tree and a text file. It has the added features to schedule a compare job for some other time, mark individual files and directories for comparing, standalone or before-compare counting of files/directories/bytes and options for unmarking files during compare, as well as options for reporting results.

Wdiff Standard has the added features of copying / moving files from one location to another, wildcard marking and unmarking of files, options for unmarking of files during the copy proccess, as well as options for overwriting files that already exist. "Dangerous" options are also marked in different color for a visual warning. It also has the ability to save and load lists of marked items, if, for example, we have some action that we want to do repeatedly without having to mark the same files all the time.

Both editions have an easy to use interface and the ability to pause and stop all jobs. It is very small (it fits on a single 1.44 floppy disk) and doesn't need to install itself in a system. The only thing that one needs is the single wdiff.exe file in a floppy!

Thousands of people all over the world use it, and many e-mails have arrived stating that "This is the program i've been looking for a long time!"

We will continue to add more features as time passes, so that it will become the standard in files/directories comparing.
